I want to believe
that we can believe:
in one another,
in a real future
for our world,
in a present worthy
of being lived.

I want to believe in God.
In the true one,
neither yours nor mine.
Because both
are made to measure
and sooner or later
we’ll outgrow them.

I want to believe in God.
In the true one,
who is yours and mine,
so that beyond the night
and the rising fear
trusting in ourselves
we may fully believe.
